POLITICS 'N' R&B: Usher Joins Kamala Harris in Atlanta to Embrace Inclusive Vision

Usher appeared with Democratic presidential nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris in Atlanta on Saturday during a get out the vote event.

Usher ignited the crowd's energy by leading them in a rendition of “We Ready” and acknowledging the presence of fellow ATLiens in the venue right from the start. The visit of the vice president and the iconic Atlanta figure coincided with the commencement of early voting in Georgia.

Given Georgia's recent history of being a battleground state, both candidates have been actively campaigning, making consecutive appearances to secure the support of the electorate.

Addressing the crowd at the rally on Saturday, the GRAMMY Award-winning artist emphasized the significance of the upcoming election, stating, “We are just 17 days away from a crucial election, where we have the chance to usher in a new era of leadership for our nation.”

Usher elaborated on his endorsement of Vice President Harris, highlighting her commitment to inclusivity and the values of "freedom" that resonate with him in this election.

“I stand with Vice President Harris because she advocates for the rights of all individuals, for freedom, regardless of background. She envisions a future for America that embraces everyone,” he expressed. “A future that nurtures small businesses, prioritizes investments in health and communities, and offers equal opportunities for advancement, but there is still work to be done, Atlanta.”

Concluding his speech, Usher urged voters to participate in early voting and engage actively in the electoral process this season.

“While we have faced challenges in our past, we must draw lessons from those experiences and recognize that our voices hold the power to shape the changes we aspire to see,” the singer emphasized. “We must strive to break free from the constraints of our history and shape a brighter future.”
